This was one of Matt’s favorite quotes, words he lived by as an activist, teacher, scholar, friend, and person in the world who believed in the transformative power of education for liberation. Matt worked to create access to education for all people, and in particular he struggled with others to fight for undocumented students’ rights to education. Matt Bradley was a powerful life force in our community and universe, whose sense of purpose, commitment, and vision for what could be, continues to inspire us all to be our best selves.

Carrying him in our hearts and minds, we promise to live our everyday lives with full and wild abandon, to read poetry, to ride bikes, grow gardens, eat fresh tomatoes and chilis (any and everything spicy!), to be respectful of others, to create alternative creative spaces for dialogue, teaching and learning, organizing, critical thinking, collective action, art, and social justice.
